from a logical point....i notice that in these threads that there are few here who dont believe in god..but i hate to tell you your dead wrong for having such an ignorant belief like that..instead ya,ll are blaming religion, people, and your personal problems for your lack of faith in god..thats dead wrong.

the non-believers are not looking at the whole picture..just the present..the things that go on in the world happen for a reason and it doesnt mean god doesnt exist.

the bible says "the fool has said in his heart god doesnt exist".

Do you think the society will abandon 1914?

it seems to me that they're slowly dismantling the date theology that ties the end times to this period in history.

first, they updated the generation teaching to mean a figurative generation, thus removing the possibility in the near future when all who were alive in 1914 are dead.

then, they abandoned 1935 so the annointed will never die off, and prove their belief that the annointed will see armageddon wrong.

1914 is based on the 7 times of the gentiles

that is based on 607bce and 360 day years...

if they change it to 365 days as we all know or 365.25 we get to 1949 or 1951 which gives them till 2019 and 2021 respectively... plenty of time for a few great fear mongering campaigns.

if they scrap 607 for the 587 or whatever, cant remember right now.. well you do the math.

there is plenty of evidence to indicate that the first five books of moses were actually written

around 800-700 bce and that moses and THAT pharoah were just mythical legends that likely never had roots in reality.

you have things in Genesis like BEFORE there was a King in Israel... showing that it was written AFTER there were already kings in Israel [circa 1000bce] which is a good 5-700 years AFTER the supposed time of Moses...

even the book of Jeremiah tells us that they first mysteriously FOUND the law of Moses after a temple cleaning....circa 600 bce.

what would it mean to naturalize spirituality?

how can naturalism inspire spiritual experience and provide us with a satisfying cognitive context within which to address our ultimate concerns?

spirituality from the latin - to be full of breath or hot air....

faith - a gamble on a long shot which has no evidence for reality, something con artists require you to have to make their con work.

every move is a gamble to some degree and long shots do, on rare occasions pay off...but in the game of life small bets on gambles with betters odds seem to work best.

science is the best odds maker mankind has ever developed.

religion is the best con games men have employed to fleece and slaughter sheep....something all good shepherds do.

Skepticism, honesty Agnosticism, and Guts.... a good SHAG has harmed far fewer than anything else I know of....

never heard of an agnostic holy war yet

I don't feel angry or resentful, do you?

i'm new here (my first post yesterday: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/138721/1.ashx) and i've noticed only one thing that i don't have in common with a few people here.. i'm breaking free of my beliefs after more than thirty years and i feel great.

i feel calm, free and in control.. i feel no anger, resentment or hate towards my so-called brothers and sisters or towards the fds or the organization.

i don't see the point, it doesn't help me any.

I felt great relief being able to leave the BORG, when their theological implants began to fail in a cascading fashion. I was free of the collective and found that anger was unwarranted. I still believe most JWs including the leadership are sincere in their belief system or BS. and as none of them nor me can live up to any fantasy ideal, there is no point in expecting otherwise. Expectation is the key... the closer ones expectations are to experienced reality the fewer reasons one can find for any strong emotion.

reality is perfect until you compare it to something it is not.
